The design of a new town in northern Libya for two million people, it seems a daunting task, but Rob LeBlanc does not seem fazed by it.
“This is a huge, huge project,” said landscape architect of the tourist town planning is on the Mediterranean coast.
“It is details of houses where they go, industrial parks, airports, office buildings.”
Landscape architects, who specialize in large-scale land planning and design, are in demand around the world, “said LeBlanc, who launched his company, Ekistics Planning and Design of Dartmouth, nearly 12 years.
It has boosted demand for LeBlanc, 41, to start an independent company, Land Inc., approximately 18 months, which focuses exclusively on international projects. The company, which shares an office with Ekistics, is designing golf courses, resorts and entire cities, even in countries such as China, Egypt and Morocco.
